CREATIVE ARTS

Creative arts offer the opportunity to develop skills and to encourage participation and interaction.  There is a growing body of research which suggests that taking part in creative arts positively impacts on psychosocial health and well-being.

Art

The Art Group every is held every Wednesday morning from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm. Art is delivered through the EIT's IDEAschool and takes place in an art studio on campus by trained art tutors. 

Woodwork

Woodwork is available in the first semester from February through to July and is delivered through the EIT Carpentry department by trained tutors.  Clients work on specific projects either in small groups or on individual projects. Support is in place to ensure that this course is accessible to anyone who wants to participate.

Clay and Ceramics

The Clay and Ceramics Group is held every Thursday morning from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm. This is delivered through the EIT's IDEAschool by trained art tutors in an art studio on campus.

Wood Turning

Wood Turning is available in the second semester from July through to December. Clients go off-site  to the Hawke’s Bay Woodturners Guild in Hastings. This is on Monday mornings.
